Thyroid Nodules

  • December 21, 2020

Thyroid nodules are rigid or liquid lumps that develop just above your breastbone within your thyroid, a tiny gland situated at the bottom of your neck. Most nodules in the thyroid are not serious and do not induce signs. Just a small number of nodules in the thyroid are cancer cells. Sometimes, when your health care professional finds it during a standard medical examination, you may not know you have a thyroid nodule. Or it could be uncovered by your general practitioner during a screening that was performed for some health purpose. Even so, some thyroid nodules can become big enough to even be noticeable or make it hard to absorb or breathing.
